TREATMENT OF FLESH SIGNS BY PLEXR (ACROCHORDONS, XANTHELASMAS, SYRINGOMAS, WARTS)

Acrochordons, syringomas, warts… our skin sometimes shows small skin growths, also called “flesh signs”, on the face, neck and skin folds. These are small benign skin tumours that are not dangerous to health, but they can be more or less visible and unsightly, and affect all skin types, with a predominance of mixed race and black skin. Xanthelasma is a skin condition characterized by a small yellow patch, usually at the corners of the eyes.

The PlexR – contraction of plasma exeresis – is a small and very innovative tool, which, thanks to the energy it delivers, will make it possible to carry out treatments of small dermatology and remove these imperfections, without surgery, quickly and without pain.

WHAT IS PLEXR?

The PlexR causes a biostimulation of the epidermis and the dermis via a form of energy: plasma. Used in aesthetic medicine for a long time, this small and handy pen allows for treatment of certain dermatological indications in complete safety, without surgery.

Concretely, it will send small flashes of light, but never come into contact with the skin. This energy will destroy the signs of flesh.

THE PLEXR : HOW DOES IT WORK ?

The PlexR is an aesthetic medicine device that, when plugged in and adjusted, delivers ion and electron rich energy, called plasma exeresis or ionized air.

The PlexR will send a current towards the skin, at about a millimeter from it, but without ever touching it. This will create a plasma arc, or an electric arc, like a welding machine! The epidermis thus heated will retract under the effect of the electric current: this is called “sublimation” of the skin. This energy, directed at the acrochordon, or any other sign of flesh, will allow it to be destroyed by abrasion of the small cutaneous relief.

WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF FLESH TREATED BY PLEXR IN DR. HAVET’S OFFICE?

• Acrochordons (or molluscumspendulum)
• Syringomas: frequent on black skin, they mainly affect the lower eyelids and develop in the excretory canal of a sweat gland (which secretes sweat)

HOW DOES A PLEXR SESSION TAKE PLACE AT DOCTOR HAVET’S OFFICE?

During the consultation, an information sheet will be given to you and an estimate and consent will be signed. No special preparation is necessary, except for the application of an anesthetic cream applied locally onto the treated area one hour beforehand to make the treatment completely painless.

In the case of the treatment of xanthelasma, Doctor HAVET performs a local anesthesia, the cream being insufficient.

After having carefully cleaned and disinfected the skin, the practitioner determines the shooting points according to the excess skin to be removed, then each shot lasts less than a second, allowing the abrasion of a part of the flesh sign until complete evaporation.

This action does not entail any risk for the surrounding tissues.

WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE PLEXR TREATMENT?

The treated areas will form carbonization crusts at the impact points.

They will fall off by themselves in the days following the session, so do not pull them out. In the meantime, the area can be washed with warm water and mild soap, then patted dry.

Once the scabs have fallen off, they leave a slightly pink or redder skin, which can be camouflaged very easily. But as with any scar, and especially in the West Indies, it is advisable to protect the area from sun exposure with an index 50 cream for one month after the session, to avoid any risk of hyperpigmentation.

The PlexR, on the other hand, allows you to get back to your activities right away.

HOW MANY PLEXR SESSIONS ARE NEEDED?

It depends on the nature, the importance and the number of signs of flesh to be treated. In general, one to four sessions are necessary, each spaced one month apart. In all cases, Doctor HAVET, after examining you, will be able to propose a tailor-made treatment plan.

WHEN WILL I SEE THE RESULT?

The disappearance of the flesh sign is an immediate sign of the effectiveness of PlexR. For all dermatological indications, the results are permanent. Nevertheless, this type of skin pathology or skin excess being very often genetic, new signs of fleshiness can appear.
