A LIGHT FACELIFT WITHOUT SURGERY WITH TENSOR THREADS

SAGGING SKIN ON THE FACE AND NECK

With age and the various external factors that act and damage our skin, it loses its elasticity, becomes thinner and drier. This results in skin slackening, leading to a change in facial volumes and expressions.  This sagging makes the face look tired, older and also leads to the formation of folds on the lower part of the face (furrows, jowls…). It also affects the neck which loses its firmness.

Before considering a facelift, and before the ptosis is too important, the application of tensor threads is an excellent alternative: they offer an immediate tensor effect and, through their action, push the skin to regenerate itself and to become denser, stimulating the production of collagen over time. This is why they are also called “tissue inducers”.

RESORBABLE TENSOR SUTURES: WHAT ARE THEY?

They are threads made from a natural polymer, polylactic acid. This is what makes them completely biodegradable. In fact, the tensor threads are completely resorbable in a few months, generally between one and one and a half years after their installation. The threads used by Dr. HAVET are equipped with very small bidirectional cones that allow for perfect subcutaneous adhesion and a gentle lifting effect.

TENSOR THREADS: WHAT FOR?

Tensor threads are ideal for treating all phenomena related to sagging skin on the face, and the areas of beautification are as follows:

• The oval of the face and the lower cheeks
• Nasolabial folds
• Folds of bitterness
• Neck
• Drooping eyebrow tail (eyebrowlift)

WHO IS IT FOR?

Men or women with a sagging face. During the consultation, Dr. HAVET will examine you and recommend or not this technique. In general, we move on to the placement of tensor threads once the volumetry of the face has been rebalanced with the help of hyaluronic acid injections.

If sagging persists, we can consider the installation of tensor threads.  Your skin must be elastic and yet thick enough to hide the threads. It must still be of sufficiently good quality.

HOW ARE THE TENSOR THREADS APPLIED?

During the consultation and at the beginning of the session, an information sheet will be given to you. An estimate and an informed consent will be signed.

The technique without scalpel is performed under local anesthesia by injection (like at the dentist’s), directly at Dr. HAVET’s office, to make the procedure painless.  No incision is made. The tensor threads do not leave any scars.

An entry point and an exit point (or more depending on the placement) are first made with the cannula. Then, the threads are inserted, still using the cannula, one by one into the deep dermis in the entry point, according to a precise marking (U-shaped, L-shaped, etc.) depending on the desired result. Once the thread is out, a (light) traction can be exerted on it to bring the desired correction, then the end is cut. The latest generation of threads, thanks to their numerous bi-directional cones, grip the skin well enough and do not create folds at the point of pulling, as has often been the case.

The procedure usually takes less than an hour.

WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF A TENSOR THREAD PROCEDURE?

The placement of tensor sutures does not require any social eviction, and you can go home normally. It is advisable to be cautious for 3 or 4 days before resuming any facial mobilization activities.

If there is a small skin excess (a fold), it will disappear in less than a week and should not worry you.  The most important thing will be to avoid important facial expressions for about two weeks, so that everything settles down and is stabilized. You should avoid laughing out loud, yawning and opening your mouth a lot, etc. Gentleness above all.

The area may be subject to bruising or slight swelling that will disappear on its own in a few days.

WHAT ABOUT PAIN DURING AND AFTER THE PLACEMENT OF TENSOR THREADS?

The placement is not painful per se but can be quite uncomfortable. This technique is non-invasive, but it is not a simple injection either.

HOW LONG DO TENSOR THREADS LAST?

The benefits of the procedure are immediately visible in the treated area: the oval is clearer, the eyes are lifted, the neck is more harmonious. 

The result will improve day by day, with an optimal effect three to six weeks later.

Afterwards, the result lasts for 12 to 18 months.

WHAT OTHER TREATMENTS CAN BE COMBINED WITH TENSOR THREADS?

In order to improve the face in a global but still natural way, it is possible to combine techniques and work on all aspects of skin aging and on the quality of the skin: radiofrequency to improve and maintain tension, botox injections and, of course, hyaluronic acid injections that allow you to redefine and rebalance the volumes of the face, as soon as 15 days after your treatment with tensor threads.
