As we age, the skin on our face and body becomes thinner, drier and looser. This is due to the decrease in the production of collagen and elastin fibers. HOW DOES IT WORK?

Radiofrequency in aesthetic medicine is a machine equipped with one or more handpieces that, when in contact with the body, will emit specific waves and heat (55 degrees) directly into the dermis, the layer of the skin located under the epidermis.

These electromagnetic waves trigger several reactions, stimulate the tissues and actively participate in their regeneration:

• The heat will act on the fibroblasts by stimulating them, which will produce new elastin and collagen fibers, while retracting the existing collagen fibers.
• The electromagnetic waves will also improve blood and lymphatic circulation, thus promoting tissue oxygenation and the elimination of toxins. This is why radiofrequency also acts on cellulite, because it unblocks fatty tissue.

All this has the effect of firming the skin, plumping it up and smoothing it out.

This device has several applicators to treat absolutely all parts of the body and face, as needed.

• Radiofrequency applicator + microneedling (or radiofrequency microneedling)

It is specially designed to treat difficult and fragile areas such as the periorbital, perioral and neck areas. It helps to tighten the skin and reduce wrinkles.

The electric current is delivered via the sterile tip with very fine needles. This induces tiny areas of coagulation, right down to the dermis, and thus causes a deep regeneration of the skin by stimulating collagen production. As the technology is fractionated, the technique is not abrasive or aggressive to the skin.

• TriLipo” technology with 3 applicators of different sizes to treat the face but also the silhouette, suitable for absolutely all phototypes.

The energy delivered by the applicators can improve skin texture by resurfacing and contouring small, medium and large areas. It also allows for the reduction of wrinkles and fine lines, in a completely non-invasive manner.

This applicator also stimulates the muscles (Dynamic Muscle Activation (DMA)) and at the same time, heats the subcutaneous fatty tissues, resulting in apoptosis (death) of part of the adipocytes and better lymphatic drainage.

HOW IS A TRIPOLAR RADIOFREQUENCY SESSION PERFORMED AT DR HAVET’S OFFICE?

At the beginning of the session or during the consultation, an information sheet will be given to you. A quote and a consent form will be signed. Dr. HAVET will perform a technical and precise medical examination of your face and/or body, and will propose a personalized treatment plan.

The session takes place at the office and no particular preparation is necessary. Doctor HAVET will take your measurements if the silhouette is treated, and photos will be taken to follow the progress of the treatment.

Comfortably installed in a half-sitting position if the face is treated or lying down if the figure is treated (on the back or stomach), and after having cleaned and disinfected the treatment area(s), the doctor can proceed with the treatment.

IS TRIPOLAR RADIOFREQUENCY PAINFUL?

Radiofrequency is a non-invasive technology, without surgery or needles.

With radiofrequency alone (without microneedles), the session is completely painless. The handpiece is placed directly on the skin, and thanks to the conductive gel, glides over it with gentle, circular movements. One simply feels a slight heat.

A microneedle radiofrequency treatment requires the application of a simple local anesthetic cream (Emla), one hour before the session to make the area totally insensitive.

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE NEEDED?

The number of sessions is variable and entirely personalized. It depends on your age, your skin type, the size of the area to be treated and its characteristics: whether it is slightly or very loose, whether it has dimples, etc.

On average, 3 to 6 sessions are to be considered, each one spaced 2 to 3 weeks apart, but Doctor HAVET will take care to propose a customized protocol.

Finally, maintenance sessions will be scheduled, again depending on your results and needs.

WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF A TRIPOLAR RADIOFREQUENCY SESSION?

The treatment is quick, between 30 and 45 minutes depending on the area treated: it is ideal for active people, who can resume their activity absolutely normally in the same time. The tripolar radiofrequency does not lead to any social or professional exclusion.

A slight redness can be observed due to the heat, a little more marked when the microneedle tip was used.

FOR WHAT RESULTS?

The result is not immediate, but progressive: it improves over the weeks following the session, and becomes more and more visible the more treatments are performed.

The skin is more toned and rejuvenated, and the oval of the face is better defined. Thanks to the stimulation of collagen production, volume is improved and wrinkles and fine lines are less visible.
