REJUVENATE YOUR NECK, CLEAVAGE AND HANDS

Very often, when we think of carrying out anti-aging treatments, we target the face (wrinkles, spots, sagging skin)(). However, the neck, décolleté and hands often betray age and are also victims of skin aging, in addition to being in the front row regarding external aggressions, especially UV rays, which are very powerful in the Caribbean.

These different areas can be more delicate to treat, but aesthetic medicine offers adapted and effective solutions to rejuvenate and beautify the neck, décolleté or hands, without surgery and without pain, for all skin tones.

THE CAUSES OF AGING OF THE HANDS, NECK AND DÉCOLLETAGE

• These areas are very exposed to external aggressions and first of all the sun. Heliodermia (aging of the skin due to the sun) will therefore mainly occur in these areas, giving spots (or lentigo), dryness, wrinkles, vascular problems, trophic disorders, skin lesions, etc.
• The very thin skin of the neck is naturally prone to the problems of sagging skin (treated with radiofrequency), the appearance of platysmal cords (treated with botox), horizontal wrinkles (treated with hyaluronic acid) and/or a double chin (treated with cryolipolysis). First of all, prevention is better than cure. Our region has a maximum amount of sunshine all year round and the sun is the skin’s number one enemy. Repeated exposure to the sun accelerates the aging of the skin and damages it more quickly, with the early appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, a wrinkled, distended appearance and pigmentation spots. It is therefore necessary to protect the face and the rest of the body from the sun’s rays at all times with a protection factor of 50, especially on sensitive areas: hands, arms, neck and décolleté.

PLUMP UP THE HANDS WITH HYALURONIC ACID INJECTIONS

With age, the skin of the hands, already thin and fragile, becomes even thinner while losing fat mass. Thus we see its hollows and bumps appear, they can take on a somewhat gaunt appearance.

As it is done on the face to fill in wrinkles or hollows, we can rejuvenate the hands with hyaluronic acid injections.

Dr. HAVET will choose a volumizing hyaluronic acid to fill the hollows on the top of the hand, at the level of the fingers, but also to conceal the veins. As a bonus, HA restores hydration and helps improve the quality of the skin. The result is immediate and lasts quite a long time: count on more than a year, even 18 months.

THE SKINBOOSTER TO SMOOTH OUT THE WRINKLES

Neck, décolleté or hands, SkinBooster is ideal for hydrating, smoothing and plumping the skin, without adding volume. It is a very moisturizing hyaluronic acid, injected deeper than mesotherapy but not volumizing.  This technique really allows for a visible improvement in the quality and density of the skin, and above all, it is long-lasting and progressive, as the effect lasts for several months. BOTOX FOR THE PLATYSMAL CORDS AND THE NECK

With age, two vertical cords appear on the neck, also called “dewlaps”: these are the platysmal cords. Considered unsightly, they are the result of the activity of the skin muscle of the neck, which connects its base to that of the lower face. This is the muscle that lowers the corners of the mouth and the jowls, so often the oval of the face must also be treated to regain an attractive contour.

After analysis of the cervical movements, targeted injections of Botox in the neck allow to attenuate the platysmal cords, for a period of 4 to 6 months, and to find a more harmonious neck.

FIRMING THE NECK WITH RADIOFREQUENCY

Radiofrequency will stimulate, firm and tighten the skin of the décolleté and neck by thermal effect. How does it work?  Under the effect of heat that penetrates deep under the skin, fibroblasts are stimulated and collagen production is boosted at the same time as elastin fibers are retracted.

RESORBABLE TENSOR THREADS

On a neck that shows slight or moderate skin laxity, resorbable tensor threads (or tissue inducers) can be a very effective solution. Fully absorbable, they are an alternative to the cervico-facial lift, and they make it possible to obtain a mini neck lift without surgery.

LASER OR PEELINGS AGAINST BROWN SPOTS

A rejuvenating treatment can be given to the hands, but also to the neckline, which have brown spots. Brown spots, also called age spots or sun spots, are the result of a disorder in the production of melanin (the pigment that colors our skin) due to age, and greatly favored by sun exposure.

If the spots are few and localized, a laser can be used to target and then break up the pigment. However, it is important not to expose yourself to the sun after the treatment and between sessions, and to protect your skin with an index 50 cream.

If the spots are more diffuse, they can be significantly reduced and a more even appearance restored to the hands and/or décolleté with one or more sessions of a medical peel, most often with TCA. Its action exfoliates the skin and thus promotes cell renewal. After a TCA peel, the skin peels off, leaving a smoother, more even skin. As an added bonus, it helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
