A BETTER SHAPED OVAL

The oval of the face is the line that runs from the ears to the tip of the chin. Together with the temples, the oval of the face defines the contour of the face. The contour being the limit of the face, its sharpness has a strong value in defining the face. With time, the loosening of the skin and the formation of jowls can alter the purity of this contour.

The key areas for a clean oval and pure contour are: the chin, the mandibular line and the mandibular angle. These areas must be expressed to lift the face as much as possible. Small bony reliefs such as a receding chin or a blunt mandibular angle increase the loss of contour. In profile, the jaw is less defined and the whole is less harmonious. The neck also contributes to the definition of the contour, a slack neck, plastymal cords, a double chin are all obstacles to the purity of the contour.

Several aesthetic medicine techniques can be used to lift and reshape the oval of the face (face contouring), redraw a slightly recessed chin (medical profiloplasty), while respecting the natural proportions of the face.  These techniques can even be combined for better results, and all without surgery or social eviction.

WHY DOES MY CHIN/JAW LACK DEFINITION?

There are several reasons for this. Some people have a bone structure that makes their jaw well defined, even square, others less so. One can naturally have a small chin, perhaps even a little receding. It’s a question of morphology.

With aging and the skin ptosis that it causes, which are accentuated by the thinning of the skin and weight, the oval of the face becomes blurred, it is less clear. Thus, the corners of the lips start to point downwards, jowls can be seen appearing, the chin and the neck become more and more blurred. Overall, from the front, we look sadder and our profile changes. This is the opposite of a young face, which is characterized by an inverted triangle shape, the tip of which would be our chin, and each base the top of the cheekbones.

RADIOFREQUENCY FOR A MINI FACELIFT WITHOUT SURGERY

Radiofrequency in aesthetics is now well known: it really helps to firm up and tighten the skin of the face, thus restoring the oval of the face, including the chin, to its full, balanced shape: this is face contouring.

In concrete terms, by penetrating the skin, the radiofrequency waves will stimulate the production of hyaluronic acid, but also of collagen and elastin. Dr. HAVET uses a state-of-the-art radiofrequency platform with handpieces adapted to facial treatment.

In addition, the heat delivered in depth by the radiofrequency has effects on fat cells. The device will cause the death of part of the fat cells located under the chin, permanently.

The radiofrequency that Dr. HAVET uses is absolutely painless and adapts to all skin types. Indeed, the technology allows a total control of the energy level, and thus of the depth of the treatment, for a customized and safe approach.

The sessions. In general, a minimum of 4 sessions is necessary, but the protocol remains entirely personalized according to the needs of each patient and his/her skin.

The result. We quickly notice an improvement in the shape of the lower face, which becomes more harmonious because the skin is more toned and retracted, with a reduction in the double chin. This aspect becomes more pronounced as the protocol progresses.

REDEFINE MY JAWLINE WITH HYALURONIC ACID

Hyaluronic acid is used to fill in wrinkles, but also to structure a face. In this case, we use a specific gel, strongly reticulated (thick), which will allow to remodel certain areas of the face, and in particular to redraw a slightly protruding jawline or to advance a slightly receding chin, for a more harmonious profile.

This technique is increasingly used by men who wish to masculinize their face.

The session. Dr. Havet will perform a series of precise injections on the chin only or all along the jawline according to your wishes and needs. For more comfort, an anesthetic cream can be applied ½ hour before the session. He then performs a light massage to distribute the product in order to obtain a natural result that enhances your appearance and blends perfectly with the rest of your face.

Result. The result is visible immediately and lasts relatively long, as the area is not very mobile. On average 1 year.

MELT THE DOUBLE CHIN WITH CRYOLIPOLYSIS

Using a handpiece specially designed to treat the delicate chin area, Cryolipolysis melts away the double chin, that little fatty mass that is difficult to remove. It is a surgery-free, needle-free alternative to minor local liposuction, and like it, the results are permanent!

The session. In concrete terms, the area is cooled to between -6° and -10° for 1 hour. The cold will cause the death of part of the recalcitrant adipocytes (fat cells) located under the chin. The session ends with a massage to drain.

The Result. Cryolipolysis generally requires only one session, and the results can be observed a few weeks later, the time for the body to eliminate the fat naturally: the small cushion of fat under your chin has visibly diminished.
